How we verify a teacher

No app teaches this. A person does.
Iqra is not a course you work through on your own. It is a hafiz who is there at a fixed hour, every weekday, and who remembers where you stopped.

At the time shown in your app, five times a week, Monday to Friday, with the same hafiz every class. It opens in Google Meet. There is no Iqra classroom to learn.

Nothing is scheduled over Jumuʿah
Friday keeps its class. What it never keeps is the hour of the prayer. Class times between 12:00 and 14:40 are not offered at all, because your class runs at the same time on all five days and one of them is Friday. The prayer comes first, and the timetable is built around it rather than the other way round.

You can join any class and watch it. You do not book it, and nobody is told you are coming. Because nothing is recorded, watching live is the only way in, and that is on purpose.

Your teacher sets the next passage. The learner records themselves reciting it and sends the recording. The teacher listens to it and writes back.

A halaqa starts together on its date and runs from the first week, whether there are three in it or seven. Seven is the most it can ever hold, never a number to wait for.

What do halaqa and sabaq mean?
A halaqa is a small group, the circle a madrasa has always taught in. On Iqra it is up to seven learners of the same gender and level, with one hafiz. Sabaq is one to one: your own teacher, nobody else in the class. They are the same teachers and the same three tracks either way, and the only difference is who else is in the room.
Can an adult learn on Iqra?
Yes. Adults, elders and reverts are as welcome as children, and the first track starts at the letters, so beginning at forty costs you nothing you would not also spend at six. Sisters of eleven and over, and adult women, are always taught by a female hafiza.
Are the teachers really hafiz?
Every one has memorised the entire Quran, passed a live audition, and cleared Aadhaar identity verification.
What about Friday and Jumuʿah?
Friday is a class day, and nothing is ever scheduled over the prayer. Classes run at one time of day, Monday to Friday, and any time between 12:00 and 14:40 is closed to that Friday class, so it is not offered as a class time at all. That does mean the middle of the day is not available. It is the trade the school makes on purpose.
Are classes recorded?
No, deliberately. Nothing is stored or shared. Instead you hold the class link yourself and can join and watch live, and your teacher writes down what to revise.
What if the teacher isn’t the right fit?
Tell us and we will find someone else, at no charge. There is nothing for you to do beyond asking. The new teacher’s name appears in the app once they are matched, and the learning carries on from where it is.
Can I cancel anytime?
Yes. Both plans are month-to-month and there is no notice period or fee. Write to us and it stops. Because you pay your teacher directly, stopping means there is simply nothing more to send.
What if we can’t afford it?
Ask for a sponsored place. A well-wisher covers the fee in full and your family pays nothing. Asking costs nothing and changes nothing about who teaches you.
