Can an adult learn to read the Quran on Iqra?

Yes. Iqra teaches children, teenagers, adults, elders and reverts. Many learners begin as adults at the very first letter. There is no age limit to learning the Quran.

How much do Quran classes cost on Iqra?

Accepted Answer

A halaqa, which is a small group of up to seven learners, is ₹1,500 per month. Sabaq, one to one, is ₹5,000 per month. Both are five classes a week, Monday to Friday, 40 minutes each, and the first class is free. Iqra is not run for profit: you pay the teacher directly and Iqra takes no cut.

Do Iqra classes run on Friday, and what about Jumuʿah?

Yes, Friday is a class day. Nothing is ever scheduled across Jumuʿah: the 12:30 to 14:30 window on Friday is closed, and because a learner's class runs at the same time of day Monday to Friday, no class time between 12:00 and 14:40 is offered at all. The middle of the day is therefore not available as a class time.

Are the teachers really hafiz?

Every teacher has memorised the entire Quran, holds an ijazah, has passed a live recitation audition, and has completed Aadhaar or PAN identity verification before meeting a learner.

Are girls taught by female teachers?

Accepted Answer

Yes. A sister of eleven or over, and any adult woman, is matched to a female hafiza, always, and she sits only in an all-female halaqa. A child of ten or under may be taught one to one by any verified teacher, and a teacher of the child's own gender is still what the matching looks for first. Every learner is matched by gender, language and level. You are matched, not left to browse strangers.

Are the classes recorded?

No, deliberately. No voice or video is ever stored or shared. Instead, a parent holds the class link too and can join any live class and watch, without arranging it first.

What if we cannot afford the classes?

Accepted Answer

Apply for a sponsored seat. Donors fund seats for learners who cannot pay, and seats are allotted in order of application. Applying is free and private.
