What we owe each other.

Iqra matches learners with verified hafiz teachers, arranges the class times, and provides the link the class is held on. Classes run on Google Meet. No fee passes through Iqra and nobody here takes a share of one.

Iqra is available in India. Teachers are independent, not employees of Iqra.

Behind Iqra is one of Allah’s slaves, serving out of love, joy and gratitude. There is no company, no registered trust or society, no office, and no name to sign at the bottom of this page.

That is said plainly rather than dressed up, because a family deciding whether to trust a Quran class with their child deserves to know exactly what stands behind it. When Iqra is described as non-profit, that describes how it works and not a registered form. Iqra is not a registered non-profit, a trust, a society or an NGO, and does not claim to be one.

There is no postal address to give and no office to visit. Everything Iqra can be asked for goes to one address, iqrahome11@gmail.com, and a person reads it and answers.

This is the part most people expect to work the other way round. Iqra does not collect the fee, does not hold it, does not route it and takes no commission. The family pays the teacher directly, into the teacher’s own UPI id or bank account.

• A halaqa, a small group of up to seven learners, is ₹1,500 a month. Sabaq, one to one, is ₹5,000 a month. Both are five classes a week, Monday to Friday, forty minutes each. Nothing is scheduled across Jumuʿah.
• The first class is free. Nothing is owed until after it.
• A teacher keeps one hundred percent of what a family pays them.
• Iqra never asks for card details and takes no payment on this website. Anyone asking you for card details in Iqra's name is not Iqra.

Because Iqra never holds the money, Iqra cannot refund it. A question about a payment is between the family and the teacher, and Iqra will help the two of you sort it out, but it is not the payer and cannot reverse anything.

Both plans are month to month. There is no minimum term, no notice period and no cancellation fee. Tell us you would like to stop and it stops, and since you pay your teacher directly, stopping simply means there is nothing further to send.

If the teacher is not the right fit, ask and we will find someone else, at no charge. There is no button for this and nothing for you to do beyond asking: the teaching desk arranges it, the new teacher’s name appears in the app once they are matched, and the learning carries on from where it is.

• Give accurate details when you book. The learner's age and gender decide who is allowed to teach them, so an incorrect answer defeats a safeguarding rule rather than a preference.
• Pay your teacher what was agreed, when it was agreed. They are relying on it, and Iqra is not standing behind it.
• Tell us if something worries you. See the safeguarding page.

These are the terms an applicant agrees to on the application form. They used to point at a non-circumvention agreement that was written down nowhere. This is that document.

• Be who you say you are. Identity and qualifications are verified before you are matched, and a false claim ends the arrangement.
• Follow the safeguarding rules in full, including the rule that a girl of eleven or over is only ever taught by a female teacher and only ever in an all-female group, and the rule that no class is ever recorded.
• Do not take a learner Iqra introduced to you off the platform while you are teaching them here, and do not move a child onto a private phone number or chat. This protects the family's safeguarding cover as much as it protects Iqra.
• Keep to the classes you have agreed to, and tell the desk early if you cannot.
• You are paid by the family directly and keep every rupee. Iqra takes nothing and therefore owes you nothing, and cannot pay you if a family does not.

A teacher can stop teaching on Iqra at any time. Iqra can stop matching learners to a teacher at any time, and will do so immediately where a safeguarding concern is raised.

There is no penalty behind any of this, no fixed tail after a teacher leaves, and no claim for damages. What is written above is the whole of what a teacher agrees to, and the only consequence of breaking it is that the arrangement ends.

Reserving a seat on the sponsor page records a pledge. It moves no money at that moment. You then send the fee yourself, directly to the matched teacher, using the UPI id and bank details on your own sponsorship page.

• Your name and phone number are given to the teacher you are paying, so the two of you can settle it. They are never given to the family.
• You see the learner's first name and their progress. You never see a family's phone number, address, documents or anything they told us about their situation.
• A month is only marked as received once the teacher confirms the money reached them.
• A pledge that is never honoured can be struck out by an administrator, so that the seat returns to the family who needs it.

Iqra will not claim more than it can keep. Matching is done by a person, so it takes as long as it takes, usually a day or two. A teacher may fall ill. A class may need moving. Learning to read the Quran is work, and no platform can promise a result.

What Iqra does promise is that the teacher is who we said, that the safeguarding rules above are real, and that no one at Iqra takes a rupee of your fee.
